Grid operation - electrical power

Safe and reliable power supply is a complex task. It involves the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of our plants with care and foresight. The network is the backbone of power supply; it connects our customers’ systems with the power station. Network operation has to work perfectly to ensure that each individual customer can use power at any given moment according to his individual demands.

Efficiency and innovation
Our network operation is automated and centralised to the highest degree possible. We use the most advanced information technologies. We cooperate with universities to optimise our network operation even further to be able to fulfil our tasks even more efficiently, reliably and safely in future.

The power supply network
Our modern and widely branched grid includes 45 substations, about 7,000 transformer stations and some 18,999 km of lines all throughout Carinthia. Long-distance transport of power is ensured by high-pressure lines, and medium- and low-pressure lines transport electricity to our customers. We monitor and control our power grid from our main control centre in Klagenfurt where we also coordinate the repair of failures.

220/380-kV network, 110-kV network

Our customers have very different demands on our power grid. We supply large urban and rural areas, industrial zones, trade and tourist regions. Our plants and systems are state-of-the-art and we always strive to take good care of our environment and nature in our activities.
